The day for most of Christendom to make a fateful decision.
An evening of a massive monetary decision throughout the country.
"Am I gonna see "Noah" or not?"
Folks come down on either side of the aisle, grabbing for popcorn between pulls of opinion.
"We should back anything that leads to a more Christian worldview."
"We can't back anything that comes from the world's "pollution of dilution"."
Huh.
I understand why the writers chose Noah.
That story and 'Davy & the Big Guy' are probably the only 2 Bible stories known widely in today's world.
But there'd be a lot less controversy if they woulda called it "Tommy and the Big Boat".
Calling it "Noah" makes us compare scripts.
Theirs to His.
And the scripts don't match up.
Which causes problems.
Yeah.
I don't go to Pizza Hut to take Communion.
Then again, I don't go to Church to get pizza.
(Unless it's a Youth Group special event. But I'm waaaaay too old...)
And here's the rub: the same folks who got their theology from "Touched by An Angel" will have their kids get their theology from movies like "Noah".
And that, actually, is pretty sad.
And pretty deadly.
Well.
There oughta be a lotta opportunities to talk to folks about something biblical come Monday morning.
And that's a good thing.
Well.
I don't think I'm in the mood for pizza ...
... though I still kinda like the idea of "Tommy and the Big Boat".
