Here I am, sitting in the lobby of the Orlando Mariott, saying "Hi" to folks I've come to know over the last four days.
And today's the last day.
I thought of that on the elevator ride down to my present perch near the coffee shop,(good Elixir there)
and I heard the words of Robin Williams' character in "Dead Poets Society", whispering oh so faintly.
"Carpe diem".
"Seize the day."
Rather appropriate on the last day of the Gideon.
But a thought gently hits me as the nearby aroma of a fresh-brewing latte pushes it into my mind.
What if I had this choice every day of my life - something like this, maybe ...
I could have $10,000 a day ... or a signed $3.7 billion dollar check along with an unlimited credit card from a very, very reputable and well-funded source?
(And no, it's not the government)
Carpe diem vs Carpe Deo.
Seize the Day - or Seize God?
I can grab the first and still miss the second.
I can grab the second and always get the first.
For all those days I'll ever have.
And the BIG bonus - eternity's covered, too.
Carpe diem or Carpe Deo?
You don't even need the Elixir to help you with this one, eh?
Yeah. Me neither.
