The discussion was on Christian comedy.
Specifically in the realm of movies.
The idea of making a movie that would entertain, make 'em laugh, and still show 'em the Saviour.
So I sat in the Chair, sipping the Elixir of Knowledge, and thought,
"how can I make HIM a joke?"
Would that even be - right?
I mean...it's HIM.
What kind of joke would...no.
Really?
Huh. That works.
"Knock, knock."
"Who's there?"
"Jesus."
"Jesus who?"
"Knock, knock."
"Who's there?"
"Jesus."
"Jesus who?"
"Knock, knock."
"Who's there?"
"Hey, I'm gonna do this all day.
Either open your door or blast the tunes on your earbuds."
Okay.
It's not exactly Revelation 3.20 in the KJV, but I think I'm beginning to see the idea.
It took me a long time to grasp the concept that HE smiles.
Even laughs.
That HE has a sense of humor that people find, well, enjoyable.
And I'm beginning to think that HE likes a good joke.
Even when HE already knows the punchline.
Loving to hear HIS children laugh.
To hear their joie de vivre* as they hold onto HIM.

If you have the time and the desire, go back to the page with the Garage on it and roll over "Scribblin'".
Then tap on "Storm Walking".
It's a story based on a picture called
"The Laughing Jesus".
It helped open my heart to a view of HIM that I'd never realized.
I hope "Storm Walking" does the same for you.
And, by the way...
"Knock, knock."
